Founded by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dawson Grove, Jr. and Susan Grove Skelly for Frederick County residents studying agriculture.
Edward Dawson Grove, Sr. was a well-known agrarian in Frederick County. He and his brother started the MJ Grove Lime Company; yet his primary interest in life remained farming. To honor Mr. Edward Dawson grove, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dawson Grove, Jr., Mr. Grove’s son and daughter-in-law, and Susan Grove Skelly, Mr. Grove’s daughter, established The Edward D. Grove, Sr. Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded from this fund to Frederick County students attending an accredited university and pursuing a degree in agriculture.

Mr. Guyton was a well-known electrical contractor in the Frederick and surrounding areas. He retired from the family business that he had started over 50 years ago. Mr. Guyton is remembered for his willingness to extend a helping hand to customers, community, friends and family and this fund will extend that generosity for years to come.
